AI visibility and AEO services for Australian mortgage brokers
Cited AI helps Australian mortgage brokers and brokerages get named, cited and accurately described when borrowers ask ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Copilot for help. We test the questions your borrowers ask, make your genuine specialisms and credentials clear to the engines, fix your website, profiles and listings, and report mentions, citations and recommendations every month.
What the service includes
- Baseline testing of borrower questions. A fixed prompt set built from the borrower types and areas you serve, run across six engines with repeated runs, recording which brokers, brokerages and comparison sites are named.
- Your specialisms, stated clearly. Engines match brokers to situations. We make sure the specialisms you genuinely have (first home buyers, self-employed, construction, investors, refinancing) are stated plainly on your site and profiles. We don’t claim specialisms you don’t have.
- Service pages and answer content. A page per borrower type you serve, plus clear answers to the questions borrowers ask before they call: how brokers are paid, what it costs the borrower, what documents are needed.
- Accurate credentials and business details. Your credit licence or credit representative number, licensee or aggregator, memberships and service areas stated the same way on your site, Google Business Profile and directories. Details can be checked on ASIC’s professional registers, so they need to match.
- Directory and profile consistency. The broker-finder, industry association and local listings the engines actually cite in your area, completed and kept consistent.
- Technical access and structured data. Search crawlers can reach your key pages, and organisation, service and FAQ markup matches what visitors see. Google says no special AI markup is needed for its AI features, so we treat structured data as clarity, not a shortcut.
- Repeatable reporting. The same prompts every month: mentions, position in the shortlist, citations of your own pages and accuracy, by engine and borrower type.
What borrowers might ask AI
These are example questions we would include in a baseline. They are written to reflect common borrower situations, not measured search volumes:
- “Best mortgage broker for first home buyers on the Gold Coast”
- “Mortgage broker who helps self-employed borrowers in Brisbane”
- “Is it worth using a broker to refinance?”
- “Broker near Byron Bay who knows construction loans”
Your real prompt set is built with you, from the situations and areas you actually serve.
How an engagement works
- Audit. Run the borrower-question baseline and record who is named, which sources are cited and how you are described.
- Structure. Fix specialism pages, credential details, profiles and structured data.
- Authority. Complete and align the directories, associations and local sources the engines read; set up a compliant review request process.
- Monitor. Re-run the same prompts monthly and report what moved, with a change log.
What we need from you
- Your credit licence or credit representative details, licensee or aggregator, and memberships.
- The borrower types and areas you genuinely specialise in.
- Website access (or your developer’s contact) and Google Business Profile manager access.
- Your licensee or aggregator’s content approval process, so changes can be signed off.
- A way to ask real clients for reviews. We never write or buy reviews.
Who this suits, and who it doesn’t
- Good fit: brokers with a clear area or borrower specialism, an existing base of happy clients, and the ability to update their website and profiles.
- Less suitable: brokers wanting guaranteed placements or rate-led advertising, or who can’t get content approved within a reasonable time.
Evidence and limits
We don’t yet have published mortgage-broking client results, and we don’t claim finance-sector partnerships or endorsements. What we can show: our study of 138 AI answers included “How can a mortgage broker in Australia get recommended by AI search?”, and across the study engines most often read dedicated service pages and “best of” lists. Our first case study, a disclosed Cited Labs project in another category, shows the reporting format we use.
Do-it-yourself steps
- Create a page for each borrower type you specialise in, with real (de-identified) examples of situations you help with.
- Show your credentials clearly: credit licence or representative number, licensee or aggregator, memberships and years in practice.
- Ask clients to mention their situation in reviews (“first home”, “self-employed”, “refinance”).
- Complete your broker-finder and directory profiles and keep details identical everywhere.
- Answer common questions plainly: how brokers are paid, what it costs the borrower, what documents are needed.

Frequently asked questions
Can a mortgage broker appear in ChatGPT answers?
Yes. AI engines name individual brokers and brokerages when people ask for recommendations, particularly for specific borrower situations and locations. Comparison and broker-finder sites also appear often, so brokers compete with those as well as with each other.
Do broker-finder and directory listings help AI visibility?
They can. Engines that search the web often read directory and comparison pages. A complete, consistent profile gives the engine another source confirming who you are, where you work and who you help. We check which listings the engines actually cite in your area before recommending any.
Are there compliance issues with AI visibility work?
Content still needs to meet your obligations: accurate, not misleading, and consistent with your credit licence or credit representative authorisation. ASIC’s RG 234 sets out good practice for advertising credit products and services. We write plain, factual content, avoid outcome or rate promises, and expect your licensee or aggregator to approve it. This is not legal or compliance advice.
Do you only work with brokers in one area?
No. We work with brokers across Australia remotely from Byron Bay, NSW. The prompt set is built around the suburbs, regions and borrower types you actually serve.
Can you guarantee AI will recommend my brokerage?
No. No one controls what an AI engine says. We measure your baseline, make the changes most likely to help and report what moved.
